More Routes

What started as friends asking to ride in GrizzLee’s tire tracks grew into a bold mission: develop and share his routes for all to enjoy.

All routes found here are about more than riding and camping.

  • They are about discovery.
  • They are about understanding the land.
  • They about respecting the communities and wildlife that call it home.

The routes found here are designed to inspire riders to experience the natural beauty, culture, geography, and history of the regions they travel through. Ethical travel is not optional—it’s foundational. Leave only footprints. Respect the people, their lands, and the wildlife you encounter. We are visitors here.

The guiding principle of the routes traveled is simple:

Ride Respectfully.

Route Description & Tracks

  • The BC BackBone Route : The BC BackBone Route spans roughly 2,253–2,574 km, depending on alternate routes and side trips taken. Plan for your return trip – adding up to an additional 1,500+ km. The route features 10 sections with descriptions, highlights, distances, lodging, fuel stops, challenges, and alternates. Adventure Discovery Points invite riders to explore and learn along the way.
  • The BC BacTrac Route (Currently being developed) : The BC BacTrac Route is the second BC route to be developed by the team. The BC BackBone Route only scratched the itch. The team is scouting and developing another route that when combined with the BackBone route will provide a comprehensive BC back country riding experience.
  • NorthWest Passage Route : This lesser known route developed by BestRest is an approximately 600-800 mile, mostly unpaved (80%) dual-sport motorcycle route created by Dave Peterson, running east-west from Puget Sound, Washington, through Idaho, to Northwestern Montana. Designed for intermediate riders on big bikes, it offers scenic, remote riding near the Canadian border, connecting the WABDR, IDBDR, and Continental Divide Route. All the information you need to know can be found at their website BestRest Products NWP Adventure Route.
  • More are in early development (Stay tuned…)

Ride Right

Always ride on the right. Cutting corners or riding left in low visibility increases collision risk with trucks, ATVs, campers, hunters, or other riders. Stay safe and considerate in the backcountry.

Ride Smart

Before any backcountry ride, know weather, terrain, local rules, and wildlife that may be encountered. Daily routine should include maintenance of your bike, gear, and inventory (fuel, tools, maps, and emergency devices); travel light, minimize risk and travel safe.

Ride Respectfully

Ride with respect and restraint—honor Indigenous peoples, wildlife, history, and fragile landscapes. Leave no trace, follow signs and speed limits, leave gates as found, and never ride off-road on protected or private land.
